Oley Health & Wellness began not in a lab or boardroom, but on a farm in the Oley Valley of Berks County, Pennsylvania — land recognized for having some of the richest, most fertile soil in the United States. That soil was the reason our founder, Jeffrey Brooks, put down roots here in the first place, decades before the words “CBD” or “wellness industry” meant anything to most people.

Jeffrey spent years breeding racing horses on this land, chasing the same soil quality that would later prove ideal for an entirely different crop and vision. When the horse industry began to decline, he started doing a deep dive into hemp — its versatility, its potential, and its promise as a genuinely sustainable alternative to conventional row crops. He converted his horse pastures into hemp fields on the belief that demand would eventually catch up to the plant's potential.

It didn't, at least not right away. So instead of waiting for a market to appear, Jeffrey built one — starting with hemp-based kitty litter, then hemp soaps, and gradually the full line of tinctures, topicals, honey, and nitric-oxide recovery products that carry the Oley name today.

What began as 250 acres of hemp has grown into the largest hemp-growing operation in Pennsylvania, and a working apiary and farm that customers can now walk through, not just read about.

The farm spans 186 acres of land in Oley, Pennsylvania, with further organic fields beyond it. Across those acres we grow hemp, mullein and wildflowers — everything our bees need to thrive. Our raw honey comes from 400 beehives set among seven acres of organically grown clover and wildflower.

Owning each step means a finished jar can be traced back to the field it came from, and it means we decide what never goes in: no fillers, no additives, no pesticides or herbicides.

Jeffrey's guiding belief is simple: this industry has earned more skepticism than trust, and the way to fix that is evidence, not hype. It is also why we are looking past CBD and wellness products entirely into hemp's next frontier — exploring hempcrete and building materials as a long-term vision of hemp's role in sustainable construction, not just sustainable wellness.
